HIYA Sleepover at the Redoubt Fort

We are Harwich Inspired Youth Action (HIYA) and we have set ourselves the challenge of spending one night sleeping out at the Redoubt, a Napoleonic fort in Harwich. We want to raise awareness of homelessness and of the work that Teen Talk does to support young people with this very important issue. In August, nine of our members aged 12- 18 years, will be sleeping under the stars from 8.00pm-7.30am and will be forfeiting the luxuries we are used to; no comfy beds, no roof over our heads and no phones! Please help us reach our target of £500, which will be split between Teen Talk and the Salvation Army Community Kitchen, two Harwich based charities that support people facing homeless issues. We will also be making a donation to the Harwich Society. About HIYA: We are a group of 11-21 year olds in Harwich and the surrounding area who want to make a difference and improve the image of young people in our community. We organise our own events and activities that bring the community together.
