Hope's Half Marathon for Harmless

I am going to be running the Bath Half Marathon in memory of my friend for Harmless. The struggle for decent mental health and wellbeing support for students is still at ongoing and more important than ever, with ONS figures revealing that as many as one in four students are seeking mental health support at some universities and not all receive the help they deserve. Earlier this year I lost a friend, and it sickens me that such things can be prevented if only there is only the right support. Universities need to stop seeing its students as statistics and start treating them like humans, whilst providing staff with proper training in how to help students cope with any problems they have. This is why I am running to raising money for Harmless, who average 6 new requests a week for face to face help.. Harmless is a user led organisation that provides a range of services about self harm and suicide prevention including support, information, training and consultancy to people who self harm, their friends and families and professionals and those at risk of suicide. I am running in memory of my friend to raise some money and awareness to get people talking about their mental health so that no one has to feel alone and without support when darkness seems all around.
