Jamie's 3 Peaks Challenge for STAGES Mental Health

About the Challenge, The highest mountain Ben Nevis in Scotland has an elevation of 1344m above sea level. Due to it’s height and location, ‘the ben’ is rarely without snow on it’s summit plateau. Second is Scafell Pike in the Lake District. At 978m, the lowest summit of the three, however, with it’s relentless and steep ascent it is arguably the hardest of all. It is also considered the hardest to navigate in poor weather conditions. Finally, Snowdon in Wales, with an elevation of 1085m. starts at Pen-y-Pass (the most common starting point), you are already 359m above sea level, however, this does not make Snowdon an ‘easy mountain’. Snowdon has a few different route options,most of which share the same final steep ascent to the summit. Raising funds for Corby charity STAGES. STAGES supports the Mental Health and well-being of recovering addicts, families members of addicts whether in recovery or not and people suffering from various Mental Health conditions. STAGES has supported over 100 people in the Corby area and their families over the last year with a very hands on approach using Mindfulness Meditation Courses & CBT, holistic therapies, reiki, indian head massage, crystal healing and reflexology. STAGES also supports via social network support groups and regular support group sessions at the Autumn Centre including lunchtime meet ups and tea/coffee/chat sessions. The founder of STAGES 'My Mum' set up this group due to the lack of non judgmental support within mental health services. STAGES does not charge beneficiaries for any of it's services, they do not want anyone to feel that they can't afford to attend when they need the company/support of their STAGES friends. STAGES volunteers also provide transport to those who do not have any. STAGES treats every person who comes through the door as an individual and treats accordingly in a non judgmental way.
