Jane runs 'Hard as Snails' 10K run

Last September I joined 'Run Active Guildford' running group. I turned up in totally inappropriate running gear and stood out like a sore thumb. I ran for 1 minute and could hardly breathe while the rest of the group ran on ahead - I honestly thought I would never return! However with the help of the amazing trainer, Linsey, and her relentless encouragement, I persevered. I also fed my shopping addiction by buying a new piece of running equipment every week. Four months on, I have now reached, on a good day, 5K. I have entered the Hard as Snails on 28th June 2017 which is a grueling 10K run. I mistakingly thought the word 'snail' meant it was easy but apparently it is very challenging, incorporating steep hills. Please encourage me by donating to this worthy cause.. proceeds will go to CornerHouse who provide emotional and wellbeing support in Woking, Runnymede and Spelthorne. CornerHouse services are open to people aged 18+ who are dealing with a wide range of mental health issues. They offer one to one support as well as support groups which run throughout the week during the day and evening. Support includes: • Depression support groups • Anxiety support group • Eating disorder support groups • Postnatal depression support group • Young persons (18-25) group • Wellbeing groups • Walking for Health regular and starter walks • Mindfulness drop ins & courses • Carers support groups • Drop in social groups (Woking Mind) • Asian women’s wellbeing project (Shifa) CornerHouse facilitates an out of hours Safe Haven which is a café style drop in centre open evenings and weekends throughout the year. The Safe haven offers a comfortable and informal space where staff provide a listening ear to help people find a way through crisis and improve mental health.
