Ride London 46 for the Enfield Deaf Social Club

I am taking part in the Prudential Ride London 46 mile Cycle on the 29th July 2017. I would love to raise as much money as possible for a brilliant cause that is based in Bush Hill Park in Enfield called the Enfield Deaf Social Club. Since I started learning Sign Language in January 2016, I have taken a real interest in to the world of hearing impairments. The more I learn BSL and read about people who have hearing impairments the more fascinated I become. The Deaf/Hearing Impaired community is an outstanding one and is one that needs more support locally and nationally. Unfortunately, there is not always as much funding available as we would want and that is why I am supporting the Enfield Deaf Social Club. The Enfield Deaf Social Club provides a space in Enfield where Deaf people want to meet. It opened in 1984 and has recently celebrated its 30th Anniversary. For many deaf people in Enfield, this club provides a social side of life to people who are not always able to communicate daily with everyone. The mission statement for the club is; "To offer a safe place where Deaf and Hard of Hearing can meet and socialise and where hearing people are welcome to come to practice British Sign Language." The Enfield Deaf Club meet every Tuesday evening and there is always a different topic of conversation, this is also matched by social activities and presentations on real life issues. The EDSC really is a fantastic place and any donations to help keep this fantastic club going are greatly appreciated, so please donate as every little really does help.
