On 7th September 2013, brave Aylesbury resident, Jo Kelly, will be putting her best foot over the edge as she takes part in the “Almighty Abseil” to help raise money for local charity “Youth Bank”.
Jo will be harnessing her “inner spider woman” as she scales 200 feet down the north side of County Hall, the iconic grade 2 listed building situated in Aylesbury's town centre. As she expertly navigates her descent, Jo aims to take in the impressive countryside Buckinghamshire has to offer.
Jo has to raise £150 to take part. She plans to do this by holding a giant car boot sale and a tasty cake sale, as well as encouraging her friends and family to sponsor her for this awe inspiring event.
Of her abseil Jo said: “I`m so excited, I can`t wait. This is a challenge on two levels; one, to raise funds for such a worthwhile charity and two, for me to conquer my fear of heights!”
An Events Fundraiser for Youth Bank said: “We’d like to thank Jo for choosing to participate in the “Almighty Abseil” for Youth Bank. It’s going to be a tough and demanding journey down County Hall, but with every determind step Jo takes, she will be raising valuable funds to support our work with local youth organisations.”
