Leeds Domestic Violence Service 16 Days of Action

Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS) is a partnership of 3 Domestic Violence & Abuse specialist agencies in Leeds, delivering the local authority commissioned Domestic Violence & Abuse contracts. LDVS provides confidential advice &support, both in the community & at emergency refuges, for women & men experiencing domestic, sexual & honour based violence & abuse, forced marriage, stalking, & coercive & controlling behaviour. LDVS is delivered by Leeds Women’s Aid inc HALT, Behind Closed Doors & Womens Health Matters. It provides Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, Community DV Practitioners, 24-hour helpline, drop-in & group sessions to provide support, advice & advocacy for women, men, families & LGBT+ people in Leeds. LDVS encourages referrals for people who are less likely to engage with support services. 16 Days of Action runs from 25 November (UN International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day). The campaign seeks to galvanise action to end Violence Against Women & Girls (#VAWG) around the world. The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement encouraging Men & Boys to work together to end Male Violence against Women & Girls. The campaign runs through, & in parallel with, the wider 16 Days. The above campaigns support the ambitions of the City’s Breakthrough Project & the outcome of people in Leeds ‘being safe & feeling safe’ in their homes, in the streets & the places they go. Fundraising is happening for LDVS! UK tax payers, please consent to us reclaiming an extra 25 pence for every generous £ you donate eg if you donate £10 we can claim an extra £2.50 from tax relief & your donation becomes worth £12.50. Because LDVS is a consortium of 3 organisations, Leeds Women's Aid inc HALT, as Lead agency, is the 'beneficary' in relation to donations on this site as they process all income/expenditure. However, all donations through this page will be used by all 3 organisations in delivering LDVS.
