Questions: What can I say about this apart from "SPONSOR ME!"?
Answer: A surprising amount!
As well as knowing that I am verbose, you'll know that I've always been a tomboy. I loved climbing trees as a kid. I once did a bungee jump for charity and, well, got something fundamentally wrong but I survived and sort of enjoyed it. I always wanted to try rock climbing but it's just not possible in Bucks! When I tried climbing in Derbyshire I loved it, so I went on an adventure weekend in Wales to do it again and had the chance to abseil down a cliff. It was brilliant fun!
Earlier this year I saw that people were being invited to abseil down the Bucks County Council offices in Aylesbury, and I leaped at the chance! I want to raise at least £1 for every foot I descend...
The good cause for which I am embarking upon this challenge is an excellent one - Youth Bank Bucks gives grants to fund projects for groups of young people or individuals aged 13-19. Projects Youth Bank Bucks has funded include dance, drama, music workshops, community safety, volunteering, drugs awareness, independent living and special music events. I wish something like that had been available when I was between 13 and 19.
So please sponsor me and I promise to send you a photo of me mid-event. I'm really looking forward to doing it, but knowing that I am am raising money for a good cause will make it even better!
