Nina Long’s 100th Birthday Fundraiser

Nina Long, Got married in 1942. Both Nina and her late husband were in their uniforms. Nina in the Army uniform and her husband in his RAF uniform. Always knew the Gurkha’s from her time in the army. Nina been actively involved in many fundraising events. One of many was the Nepal Earthquake Appeal. Nina, Chris and family were part of the 2015 Royal Borough Community Award Team. A Team that got together at a time of great need, 2015 Nepal catastrophic Earthquake.
The team fundraised over £20,000 to Send over 21,000 tonnes of Donations to some of the most remote hard to reach areas in Nepal.
The team later formulated and registered their Charity Skills and Care Greenwich.
To support marginalised community living in poverty mainly of Gurkha Nepali origin and ones from wider community living in poverty.
Our team believes every little helps. We can’t change the world but can make a small difference.
We decided to Support homeless, war widows & Families and single mums.
2019 Skills and Care Won and MBE for Voluntary Service.
Through Social Media Nina has always make a possitive and inspiring impact on the whole time.
At Nina’s age she still thinks and remembers us. Nina inspires the whole team to keep going when things get tough. 2015 Together we grow project, as BBC news called it 
Gurkha war widows & sanctuary, Middle park allotment.
For over 6 years Families living in poverty been growing their own fruit and veg. The Gurkha War Widows and Families call home.

Through our the Pandemic that’s been the only place where the seniors were allowed to use safely.

our service users been supporting many housebound seniors with organic grown produce.

The allotment shelter sustained some weather damage in need of repairing.
