About

I am raising money for this wonderful organisation that helped me when my life changed 20 years ago. On 7th July 1996 I was involved in a serious car accident on the A14 at Risby nr Bury St Edmunds, and a Doctor from Suffolk Accident Rescue service attended, I suffered life changing injuries and my fiance was seriously injured, he was transferred to Addenbrokes hospital and spent a week in ICU where he died a week later. If it wasn't for all the emergency services and the SARS doctor I would not have got to say goodbye to him in hospital and he might not have survived for a week. I wanted to be able to give something back to such a terrific service and its something that anyone at anytime might have the unfortunate need to use. At the end of last year the opportunity came up to enter the Great East Swim at Alton Water on 18th June and SARS offered me a place to swim for them and raise some much needed funds at the same time. SARS is a voluntary organisation that relies on charity donations and does not receive any funding. Please give even just a little as they do such terrific work but need so much to keep going.
