Queens Half x Swindon Harbour ProjectA fundraising project by Lucy Westcott
Hello again! I'm now running the QUEENS HALF MARATHON on APRIL 17.
I'm heading to South Africa for a reporting trip in May and will have to miss the Brooklyn Half. Queens is on April 17, a month earlier than expected, but it's fine.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Let's do this!
Hello everyone! Thanks for visiting my page.
For some strange reason, I've signed up to run the Brooklyn Half Marathon on May 21. After my first attempt at running 13.1 miles was cancelled earlier this year because of the snow, this will be my inaugural half.
Alongside my training, which mainly consists of running loops around Prospect Park over and over again, I'm raising money for the Harbour Project, a welcome and support center for refugees and asylum seekers in my hometown, Swindon.
The Harbour Project has been working to help refugees and asylum seekers since 2000 during the Kosovo refugee crisis. With more than 60 million people displaced around the world, the largest number since the end of World War II, there's an even greater need to help the millions of men, women and children uprooted by war, conflict and persecution.
The Harbour Project has assisted people from countries including Syria, Iraq, Eritrea, Somalia and Iran, whether it's helping them navigate appointments with local services or having a chat over a cup of tea.
I would be thrilled if you could donate anything to the Harbour Project and everyone it helps in Swindon.
