Bath Half Marathon

I have decided to run the Bath Half for a local charity, Somerset & Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS)..

I believe the topic of rape and sexual abuse, although it may make you feel uncomfortable, needs to be spoken about more often. I hope running for SARSAS will bring this to your attention.

Here are a few statistics:
- Approximately 85,000 women and 12,000 men (aged 16 - 59) experience rape, attempted rape or sexual assault in England and Wales alone every year.
- Only around 15% of those who experience sexual violence report to the police.
- Approximately 90% of those who are raped know the perpetrator prior to the offence.
