My Year of Adventure for Nottingham Women's Centre

In fact, I love my job so much that I'm prepared to push myself to the limit to support our services. As the Centre Manager of Nottingham Women's Centre, I see the impact that we make every day. Our strapline is 'Helping women achieve amazing things' and I truly believe that we do this - and I decided to do some amazing stuff myself to demonstrate it. In August I took part in a boxing tournament. I'd never boxed before but after 8 weeks training (with Pink Collar Boxing) I stepped into the ring and faced my fears. It's an experience I'll never forget. In October I abseiled off an 80ft high bridge, finally getting over my fear of heights. And then on 4th November, I topped things off by jumping out of a plane - a tandem skydive. I'd never done this before and it was an absolutely incredible experience. At Nottingham Women's Centre we work with women from all kinds of backgrounds who've faced different kinds of trauma in their lives. Our approach is different - we work around the needs of the woman, providing individually tailored support to help each woman reach her own goals, whether they are small or large. We empower women to take control of their journey, giving them the practical support and tools they need to help them along the way. Providing this support costs money but it really does change lives. Please help us to keep helping women by supporting my 'year of adventure'!
