My Barefoot Challenge Supporting Families in Need
100 years ago, it was common to see hungry children without adequate clothing running barefoot around the field of Bonny Downs. Over the last year, the pandemic has brought out the great community spirit that exists in our area of East London. But sadly, it has also shown that some of challenges we faced 100 years ago still exit today - and it’s made them even worse.
I have set up this page to help raise funds for the amazing work that Bonny Downs is doing to help children and families get back on their feet after the pandemic. In solidarity with friends, I'll be starting my Barefoot Challenge on Saturday 12 June around Flanders Field in East Ham and will walk 100 miles barefoot during the whole of the Summer time around Newham public parks.
If you are in a position do so, please would you sponsor me? No donation is too small! Every pound will make a difference to a family right now. And if you're feeling generous, £15 could buy a new pair of shoes for a child living in poverty, or provide an emergency food parcel for a hungry small family.
Well done Mentesnot. This is a brilliant enterprise!
