Nadine's 5km for Money A+E Community Fund!

Hi, my name is Nadine and I will be fundraising for Money A+E's Community Fund by running and waking 5km in the Walk/Run 2020 at West Ham Park on Saturday 28 March, 11am-1pm. #MAEWalkRun
 
I am fundraising for this cause because Money A+E transformed my life. A few years ago I was struggling with debts that were out of control and living in a bubble of fear - I was too scared to even open my post. But slowly, through attending their workshops I started little by little to get control of my finances and feel normal again. I became so much more confident and now I lead workshops for Money A+E. There are far too many people in the position I used to be in, they really need our support.
 
The Money A+E Community Fund helps to fight debt and poverty for thousands of Londoners. But so many more need its help, and anything you can spare will make a real difference.

With household budgets squeezed by insecure and poorly paid employment, benefit cuts and high housing costs, an estimated 9 million UK adults are currently borrowing money to buy food or pay their bills. This shocking figure means people in our communities struggling to feed their families, to heat their homes and to keep the bailiff from the door.

Your support will provide:

• Help for those facing severe hardship – via small grants for emergency gas or electric payments, general household costs or court and insolvency fees.
• Life-changing money skills – delivered through Money A+E’s financial education workshops, which target young people and adults in disadvantaged communities.
• Volunteers – Money A+E’s services have helped 1000s of people to find solutions to their money problems through friendly, compassionate advice and education. This wouldn’t be possible without the vital support of volunteers.
