Newark Play Ass. Resource Centre Renovation

Hello we are a group of 26 young people who are doing our NCS programme through Peterborough Open Awards Centre throughout August 2017. As part of our Social Action project we have decided to raise money to support a fantastic charity which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Newark Play Association are trying to purchase a building which is used to support young people who struggle with main stream education. Instead of going to a traditional school they will attend the resource centre to support their education in this unique environment. Newark has the only city farm in the eastern region and introducing the children to this environment has a real calming effect on them and can have a fantastically positive and calming effect on their education and personal development. The Eco garden and woodland area offers the young people a green space where they can enjoy and learn outdoor skills and the adventure playground is always a positive with the younger children. We feel this is a very worthwhile cause and any funds we raise will go towards the renovation of the building and may form the basis of a larger funding bid with the National Lottery. Once our NCS programme is over the Duke of Edinburgh group will carry on fundraising for Newark on this page to reach our modest target of £2,000. Thank you for considering our cause.
