No Cake August

I joined the Localgiving team in May this year and, since arriving, have been treated to an overwhelming array of sweet goods by my incredibly generous colleagues. As such, I have found myself eating cake with reckless abandon! This morning, as I trekked up the 6 flights of stairs to the office in the hope of atoning for yesterday's indulgence, I decided... no more... for a month at least. In the hope of kicking my newly found sugar addiction, during the month of August I hereby solemnly swear that I will consume no cakes, no desserts, no biscuits, no doughnuts, no sweets, no chocolate bars, no ice cream (sob!) and no cookies - and while I'm at it, I'm going to try and raise some cash for a good cause. Without me stuffing my face, I figure there should be plenty more to go round for Free Cakes for Kids Hackney. So, any sponsorship you can give me for this arduous challenge (I maybe milking it slightly) would be very much welcome and will go towards providing a birthday cake for a kid whose family can't afford one.
