On Thursday 5th October Shelley and I will be challenging ourselves and helping to raise vital funds for YMCA Milton Keynes.

There is a growing and visible homelessness problem in Milton Keynes and many other young adults are less visible - sofa surfing with friends. While this is a national problem that requires a national solution - YMCA Milton Keynes does what it can with its 23 bed hostel and 123 flats.

But putting a roof over someones head and giving them a bed to sleep in is just the start. Many of the people who knock of YMCA's door have faced difficulties in their lives and need help and support to get back on track. YMCA offers this support providing residents with independent living skills, helping them to improve their health and well-being, physical as well as mental health, and supporting them to find sustained employment.

As with many local charities there is much more limited access to public funding and this is coming at a time when demand for YMCA services is growing - and this unfortunately costs money to sustain.

So, if you could support us in our challenge and help us raise funds it would be very much appreciated. No donation is too small.

And, if you would like to challenge yourself why not join us on the 5th October?

Thank you

Paul & Shelley
