To all of you from all of me ... I am going to walk off the top of a 70m high building on 7th September and would like to ask you for money to do so. An appealing prospect worthy of a generous contribution, I'm sure those who know me will agree. Sadly for you, I shall be attached to a rope, for it will be an abseil. I know, I know, but the option to descend without one falls foul of Health & Safety legislation, and it's not often I'm relieved of THAT, I can tell you. I and many others will be raising money for Youth Bank, a scheme whereby young people allocate funds to worthy youth projects in Buckinghamshire. This is most valuable at a time when youth work budgets - and, in fact, youth work itself - are under threat. If you want to know more, look here: http://www.bucksherald.co.uk/news/more-news/abseilers-prepare-to-brave-200ft-drop-off-bucks-county-hall-1-5379121 And here: http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/bcc/youth/YouthBank.page I am aiming to raise at least £500. There is already about £120 in the kitty, but I want to raise much more. You may sponsor me by the great or by the number of metres I manage to descend before a colleague cuts the rope: the choice is yours. I'm told that through this site you can make pledges, or you can contact me directly through Facebook and you can give me the cash over a drink or something. Thanks in advance, Peter
