On Monday, 22nd February 2021, my brother Ian Hewett passed away. It was totally unexpected. The whole family are devastated and heartbroken and still in some form of shock that it happened. He was a kind, generous, warm-hearted, funny, creative and very talented human being, whom we love and miss dearly. Although his passing at too young an age was not Covid-related, in many ways the effect of the pandemic has been felt particularly where we are unable to come together and hug, to provide that human contact and support whilst we mourn our loss, reminding us of the shared moments in our lives that we have missed and continue to miss. Ian truly cared about the world and had a keen sense of injustice. He would want us to mark his passing by making things a little better for local people who are struggling. Therefore, rather than flowers, we are asking for donations to Cardiff Foodbank in his memory.
Although I hadn’t personally met Ian, I had heard so much about him through his beautiful wife Helen. May you rest in peace and your memory live on forever through those that loved you so dearly. Xx
