Sarah J Duncan Skydive for Tonic

With both sadness and ultimate gladness, i am writing this wee statement why i want anyone and everyone to support/sponsor me for this skydive.
So here goes the reason i am raising money for the charity known as 'Tonic Music for Mental Health' and is super important to me.
From an early age i have struggled with anxiety and depression in different shapes and forms...dealing with it in different shapes and forms.
I have formed my own coping strategies and avoidance dealing with things in numerous ways. Some of these strategies worked a wee bit and some definitely didn't as some of you are very aware!!!
Last spring i ended up in a really horrible place. I had friends around me who helped me, despite myself. One of these friends took me to the Tonic ska Choir.
The choir has had a profound effect on my life. I have gone from not being able to function on a daily basis, hiding due to my anxiety and depression, to standing on a stage at music festivals with people i am proud to call my friends.
I did worry about opening up myself to criticism and stigma by admitting i struggle with mental health well being.I have spoken to Tonic about this one to one.
I now wish to shout from the rooftops that yeah maybe i'm not normal, but people at Tonic Music for Mental Health don't mind.
By raising money for Tonic Music for Mental Health i maybe able to help them help others like they helped me.
