Skydiving for Care & Repair - whose idea was that?

Hello everyone Over the past few weeks I have been asked more times than I can remember if I have gone completely nuts. Why? Well… I have decided to do a sponsored sky dive to raise money for the Care and Repair movement across Wales. Aaaaaargh!! I know!!! Why skydiving? Our Patron, Dilys Price, who is 84, regularly skydives. She told me it is the best thing she has ever done and it’s “better than sex”! Well I had to try it! So, Dilys and I are doing our jump on July 29th in Swansea. I’ll let you know if she was right after the event….. Those who know me will know that I work for Care & Repair Cymru and that my job is my passion. Supporting the 13 Agencies that form the movement across Wales to provide always improved and indispensable services to older people so that they can continue living in their own home, in a dignified, safe and enjoyable way is what makes me get out of bed in the morning. Those who don’t know me, please take a look at the Care & Repair Cymru website to get a better idea of how invaluable the work of the Care & Repair Agencies is. In a nutshell, over the past year alone, the combined staff of 260 have assisted in excess of 45,000 people improve and adapt their homes. The services that we provide, although necessary, can cost a lot money and this is why I have decided to take the jump (literally!!!). I hope that by doing something so out of character for me, something I would not have normally considered in a million years, I can raise some much needed funds to help more older people in Wales live an independent, safe life in their own home.
