Over the summer holidays, Emily and Rebecca are both going to swim the equivalent of a channel crossing, thatâs 22 miles each, in order to raise funds for the Amersham Bandroom Appeal.
They are aiming to complete this a mile at a time, covering between 3-5 miles a week each.
As of 17/8, with a 2 week head start on her sister, Rebecca is at the 12 mile mark but has just had 8 days away with the National Childrenâs Orchestra of Great Britain, giving Emily the chance to try and catch up! Emily has got herself to the 8 mile mark but will be away this week with Hertfordshire Music Services County Youth Orchestra, giving little sis the chance to further extend her lead!! They will be battling it out in the last 10 days of the holidays to see who can go back to school with the least distance left to swim! We are aiming for a final mile âSwim-Offâ mid-September time!!
The Bandroom Project is 85% funded with £366,000 raised so far and you can find out more about the bandâs ambitious plans here http://amershamband.com/bandroom-appeal/
We are so close to achieving our goal; the band offers so much, through music, across the whole community, please help us to reach our final total.
Congratulations to you both from Phoebe 💕
Congratulations on the swimming and fund raising! x
Great effort girls, all for a good cause, well done! x
So with the National Championships over, Emily settled down to finish her swim, when, with 4 miles to go, disaster struck. A dislocated knee has put her out of action so Rebecca has swum them for her
So proud of you both best of luck
