On Friday 21st August, to celebrate my 80th birthday, I’m taking the plunge, sky diving from a plane at 15,000 feet to raise much needed funds for a charity that is very close to my heart.
Covid-19 is proving challenging for our members and I am asking for your help to ensure that ECL is financially viable so that the Charity can continue its amazing work when lockdown is over.
Over the years, as the charity has developed, our staff and volunteers have created an environment where our members feel included and part of the ECL "family". Volunteers always go that extra mile to befriend our members with a learning disability and/or autism and spend time with them on a one-to-one basis at all ECL projects. This has continued during the recent lockdown with all of our members being regularly phoned, receiving letters, and where possible being included in zoom sessions.
Once activities resume post Covid19 then the befriending and reassuring aspect of ECL work will be even more important than in the past. Our experience and specialised approach will ensure that we can move forward feeling safe and looking forward to new ECL experiences with the friends that we have missed seeing recently.
Thank you for supporting ECL.
Well done Terri.
You did it - well done. Denise, Mike and Becki
Fingers crossed for a smooth flight and even smoother landing. Good luck Terri 🤞 Sheila M

About Terri's 80th birthday Skydive
To celebrate my 80th birthday I am sky diving from 1500 feet on August 21 to raise much needed funds for ECL,a charity that I helped establish and am now proud to be its Patron. The Charity supports Elmbridge young people and adults with a learning disability. We offer opportunities for our 100+ members to broaden their horizons.
