The Magnificent 70

In November 2018 i will be celebrating my 70th birthday. To celebrate my birthday i shall be stepping back onto the wrestling mat on Sunday 4th November to take on 70 consecutive opponents. All to raise funding for 2 charities that are close to my heart: The Manchester YMCA Youth & Communities projects Kidney research UK Any donations will be kindly received on this page or on the day - at the Castlefield Hotel, Manchester. first bout 2pm on 4th November 2018. See you there About Me: I have been a member of YMCA Manchester since i was 16 years old have spent most of my adult life involved in the sport of wrestling, both on the mat myself and coaching the next generation of medal winners. Following a successful spell coaching at the Y Club i was recruited by the British Wrestling Association to create a programme of summer wrestling camps in the USA during the 1990s and i continue to develop the sport at a community club in Wythenshawe to this day Please help me and my fellow wrestlers in our attempt to raise money for YMCA Manchester’s Youth and Community projects. The Youth and Community team do great things for vulnerable and marginalised young people across Manchester and Salford, including delivering Mental Health awareness work in local schools, Alternative curriculum provision, and providing support for young carers around their education employment and personal development needs.
