Triathlon for Clarity

Myself and Val along with anyone who would like to join us are raising money for Clarity,  we have never entered a triathlon before so it will quite a challenge for us.  We both volunteer at Clarity and it's a charity very close to our hearts. 

Clarity are a Barnstaple based mental health charity which helps people from the wider North Devon area who are experiencing mental health and emotional issues. We offer 1-2-1 counselling and group therapy together with weekly support groups for those with enduring mental health issues.   Our team of 23 highly qualified counsellors, therapists and students give their time for free for 1-2-1 counselling, and we have just obtained Lottery funding to develop our group therapeutic programme.  At the moment we see 70 clients a week for 1-2-1 sessions and group therapy, and have a waiting list of over 160 names.  

The majority of our clients are signposted to us via statutory health service providers - GPs, psychiatrists, local mental health services and the Depression and Anxiety Service. They come with a wide range of issues from historical sexual abuse, long-term anxiety and depression, through complex grief such as bereavement through suicide, recovery from addiction to trauma issues. We do not receive statutory funding for this work, but rely on grants, donations and fundraising to keep the services going.
