I always pledged to run a marathon before I was 40. I will be reaching this milestone on Saturday 8th April so on Friday 7th I am going to run a marathon along the banks my two favourite rivers, the Derwent and the Tyne. I am raising funds for The Friendly Development Charity, a fantastic organisation set up and managed by my amazing wife, Emma. FDC runs a variety of personal development programmes for young people in the North East of England including a pioneering body image project, Beautiful is___. Any money I raise will go towards an exciting new programme which has just been launched that supports and trains young volunteers. As a dad of 2 kids, statistically they are likely to face their own body image issues and I really value the work FDC does in helping young people to not only celebrate how unique they are but also acknowledge that there is so much more to them than their appearance! In an image-saturated society, I think they need to hear that. Please help me support FDC to continue this essential work. Thank you.
