Young Actors: National Theatre Connections ProjectA fundraising project by Christoper Elmer-Gorry
Warts and All Theatre will work with a group of young people from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels to take part in National Theatre Connections 2018.
National Theatre Connections is a national festival of new writing for young people.
Warts and All Theatre will work with their Young Actors 14-21 to present 'When They Go Low by Natalie Mitchell.
They will perform this in their home venue and at Royal and Derngate in Northampton.
The play explores the ideas of gender equality and will enable to the group to explore who they are in relation to the wider world at this crucial time in their personal and social development. As well as creating a high-quality production we believe the project will also enable the participants to develop their interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
In addition to all of the above, due to the themes of the project, we believe it will allow the participants to engage with subject matter that they may not usually have the opportunity to discuss, debate and personally reflect on.
In addition to the finished product (a really good performance!) Warts and All Theatre promote an inclusive environment that will enable the participants to develop into well-rounded young people.
