Thank you all for making our Small Charity Week Match Fund such a huge success.
The campaign kicked off at 10am on 22nd June and the £25,000 match fund pot ran dry in just 30 minutes! This is the quickest any Localgiving match fund has run out. In this time over 360 charities benefited from doubled donations.
Overall on Fundraising Day 619 Localgiving groups raised over £155,000 from 3,450 supporters.

Small Charity Week celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector - of the invaluable contribution that these groups make to the lives of millions of individuals, communities and causes across the UK and the rest of the world.

Start date and time: 10am on Thursday 22nd June 2017. Please note that donations made before 10am will not be matched.
End date and time: 23:59:59 on Thursday 22nd June 2017 or when the match fund runs out.
Matching conditions: One-time donations made to a charity via Localgiving during the campaign will be matched pound-for-pound by up to £25.
Donations that will not be matched: Donations outside of the supporter and charity limits detailed below will not be matched through this campaign. Please note that we cannot guarantee the length of the campaign and donations will only be matched whilst match funding is available.
Supporter limits: Each supporter may claim up to £25 of match funding via one-time donations per charity they choose to support. This can be via one donation of £25 or more, or several smaller donations that add up to £25 in total. Every supporter may support as many charities as they wish and have their donation(s) matched in accordance with these conditions whilst match funding is available. If you’re a charity, all you need to do is make sure that you have an active Localgiving membership. All groups with an active Localgiving membership will be automatically eligible for match funding through the campaign. If you're a supporter, simply make a one-time donation to the group(s) of your choice and we'll match it by up to £25.
At present we have £15,000 secured for the Match Fund. We are currently in the process of fundraising to increase the size of the fund.
The match fund starts at 10am on Thursday 22nd June 2017 and ends at 23:59:59 on Thursday 22nd June 2017.
Each charity or community group that is a member of Localgiving has a maximum of £250 of match funding available to them through the campaign.
Each donor may have up to £25 matched through one-time donations per charity. Donors may support as many charities as they wish through the campaign and have their donations matched up to this limit whilst match funding is available.
In order to benefit from match funding, please make sure you start making your donation after the campaign start time of 10 am on the 22nd June. Match funding is reserved at the start of the donation process, so please wait until after 10 am to begin making your donation. Any donations started before this time will not be matched, even if they are completed after 10 am. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee how long the match fund will last and once all funds have been allocated no more donations will be matched.
The option to claim Gift Aid and add an extra 25% to your donation will be available during the donation process. Please read the check boxes and answer honestly to ensure that you make a legitimate claim. For more information on Gift Aid rules, please click here.
Yes! Donations made through fundraising and/or appeal pages will be matched by up to £25.
No, this constitutes recycling of funds, which is in breach of our terms of service. Donations must be made by a supporter directly through the Localgiving site to be eligible to be matched.
In order to benefit from match funding, donations must be made by supporters online via Localgiving. Cash collections cannot be processed via Localgiving. If you are holding an event to raise money for your group, and you would like to use this as an opportunity to benefit from match funding, we advise that you have a laptop or tablet at your event so that people can make donations to your group online. You can also direct supporters to donate via their smartphone using our mobile site.
Yes. A donor may donate any amount of between £2 and £5,000 to the charity of their choice. This donation will be matched pound-for-pound by up to a maximum of £25.
Each donor may claim up to £25 of match funding via one-time donations per charity they choose to support. This can be through either one donation of £25 or more, or multiple smaller donations. E.g. if a donor made the following three separate donations to the same charity, they would be matched as follows: £20 - matched by £20 (£20 total match funding) £3 - matched by £3 (£23 total match funding) £5 - matched by £2 (£25 total match funding)
