Our #WinterGiving campaign has now closed.
Our final leader board is below.
This campaign launched at 12am (00:00:00) on #givingtuesday (28th November) and end at 23:59:59 on 14th December.
During this campaign all appeal pages run by Localgiving members are being ranked according to the number of unique donors they receive. The member whose appeal receives the most unique donations will win £300. So, in this season of giving, every little really does count!
This is the perfect way to get your neighbour, niece, nan and newsagent involved with your winter appeal - and have some fun along the way.
The campaign winner will be announced on 15th December, Local Charities Day 2017.
Set up an appeal for your group now and make your winter a little warmer! To set up an appeal, login to your Localgiving charity account and go to the "My pages" tab.

Why are we focusing on Appeal Pages?
Winter is a traditional time for charity appeals - not only is this the season for giving but it is also a season that sees rising demand for many charitable services. However, we know it can be hard for local charities to get their appeals the publicity they deserve. This competition provides local groups a platform from which to raise awareness and galvanise support for their appeals.
Appeal pages are a great way to raise money for a specific programme, crowdfund for new projects or raise emergency funding in response to a crisis.
Unlike some crowdfunding platforms, through Localgiving all donations made to an appeal are kept by the charity - even if the target isn't reached. This is to make sure that no fundraising effort goes in vain, and that charities are able to benefit from donations soon after they are given, rather than having to wait for the target to be reached.

Funding for 2017's campaign is being kindly provided by a private philanthropist.
Our technical system automatically excludes repeat donations from donors who use the same email address. However, it does not always detect when a donor has used the same name and payment method, but a different email. In order to ensure a fair competition, we manually verify these cases and consolidate the donations to represent one unique donor. This process may slightly affect some of the scores.
