Enabling children with neurological movement disorders to lead active and independent lives.

To offer children with a neurological movement disorder and their families access to weekly Conductive Education sessions along with termly home, school and nursery visits. Working with the parents and nursery / school staff to develop their child's gross and fine motor skills,communication and self care skills. Ultimately building on the child's self-esteem and problem solving skills and teaching them the tools they will need to actively conduct their daily lives with confidence.

Why the community needs us
Children/ teenagers with a neurological movement disorder across Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset, BANES and South Wales are given the opportunity to develop their physical skills, communication, self care skills, problem solving skills and confidence; working to become more independent and active members of their families and community.

Our impact on the community
At present we are able to offer weekly sessions to 10 children / teenagers at our base in Abbots Leigh, Bristol and to 6 children / teenagers at our outreach service in High Littleton, Somerset. We have a waiting list of 6 children. All of the children work towards short term aims (termly) and long term aims; achievement of these aims demonstrates the progress the children are making along with the development of functional skills and the confidence using their skills in unfamiliar situations.
