Helping people with mental health problems to change their lives through Recovery based therapeutic horticulture.
Seed of Hope CIC is a Not-For-Profit Social Enterprise that helps people with mental health problems to change their lives through therapeutic gardening. We use the elements intrinsic to horticulture such as: Being outdoors in nature, increased light levels, working as part of a team towards a common goal, nurturing living plants and environments, gentle exercise and above all Hope - to deliver improved mental and physical well-being for our participants.
Why the community needs us
One in four of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives, this does not have to be a lifelong experience. We know that Recovery from mental health problems is possible. Our participants have experienced reduced depression and anxiety, improved physical health, reduced symptoms of mental health problems such as hearing voices and improved social interaction. For every £1 spent on Seed of Hope we deliver £17 worth of social value to the community.
