Who are we?

We have a governing committee made up of three young people. The chairperson, Treasurer and secretary who work together to give our members a voice in there community
Our mission.Through an inclusive and environmentally sustainable approach we are looking at raising awareness of issues effecting young people in the Neath Port Talbot area, and beyond.
We are passionate about; Youth homelessness, Environmental Sustainability, Improving the image of young people, and improving the community we live in.
Some of our accomplishments.
- We build a workshop using community funding so that we were able to teach our members wood work and carpentry, In turn using recycled wood we have made Christmas reindeers and snowmen to sell in community ran markets. More recently we have started to make garden planters and garden ordainments.
- With community funding, We have improved our members quality of life through educational and engaging trips and activates.
- We have worked closely with our local council to improve other youth homelessness projects within Neath, Port-talbot

A message from our co-ordinator
We are a non profit organization who caters for between eight and thirteen residents, both male and female between the ages of 16-24. The young people that live here have been placed at the project for various personal reasons where their circumstances would cause them to be homeless otherwise. Our purpose is to support them with social, educational, welfare and training opportunities and to improve their lives to some degree due to age, financial hardship and mental incapacities.
Why the community needs usThese individuals have need for this service due to many unfortunate circumstances such as family breakdown, drug/alcohol dependency and other social barriers that has caused them to become homeless. They are encouraged to make decisions for themselves in many aspects of their lives and Team Clarewood committee members are the residents themselves which empower them to go forward in life in a positive manner.
Our impact on the communityyoung people can stay with us for up to two years and we have two training flats and a two bed training house but we endeavour to move them into independent permanent flats within 6 - 12 months.
contacting companies for donations and holding fundraising events, helping in the workshop over xmas to make snowmen and reindeers.
