Promoting the human rights, equality, social inclusion and community involvement of disabled people.
A pan-disability organisation, we aim to 1) Challenge discrimination and negative attitudes towards disabled people; 2) Represent the views and interests of disabled people across all impairment groups and all ages; 3) Facilitate dialogue and learning about the barriers faced by disabled people and their families; 4) Act as a channel of communication between disabled people (and their families) and key decision-makers.
Why the community needs usBy helping to break down societal barriers, disabled people and their families, friends and supporters are enabled to participate on equal terms in community activities and local decision making. Through our events, forums, newsletters, briefings and website, we help to empower disabled people to access the support needed to achieve self-determination and to lead autonomous, independent and personally fulfilling lives.
