Portman Triathlon for Carers Network

Farrers are delighted to be entering a relay team to swim, run and cycle The Portman Triathlon and to support the Carers Network.

Caring is more than just a job. It’s more than going for the prescriptions; it’s more than doing the shopping or helping the person you care for dress. It’s a commitment to someone you love. It’s supporting their emotional and physical needs and helping them retain their pride and dignity.

Carers Network is a local independent charity providing specialist support to unpaid carers in central London since 1991. Their vision is that every local carer is recognised and leads a healthy, fulfilling life with control over their caring role. They were originally set up by carers to support carers and this ethos is at the core of everything they do. All Carers Network's activities are centred around the needs of unpaid carers in the local area. They currently support over 4,500 unpaid carers each year through their range of projects and services. An unpaid carer is someone that looks after a family member or friend, who for reasons of illness, disability or frailty is unable to look after themselves. 1 in 8 people in the UK are an unpaid carer.
Carers Network provides advice, specialist help, funding and access to support networks. They want carers, young and old, including those new to caring, to feel supported and to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. They run services in Westminster, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

The relay team is:
4x400m swim (Serpentine Lido) - Simon Graham, Edmund Fetherston-Dilke, David Morgan & Owen O'Rorke (reserve: Rebecca Crowe)
2x5km run (Hyde Park) - Emily Zethraeus & Mitesh Patel (reserve: Charlie Harvey)
3x10km static cycle (Portman Gardens) - Helen White, Krista Kojecky & Paul Jones (reserve: Emma Hawkins).
All profits from the event go to the charity (the firm has paid the entrance fee) but we'd love to raise a little more! Thank you
