My challenge is to avoid using my car to drive to work in Dingwall for at least the month of May. Normally I drive in to my office and this a 13 mile round trip each day. So my plan is that I will cycle to Dingwall and back each working day for a month (when I am in the office). I could just say that I will do it for May, but as I am on holiday for week, I feel I should extend this into June. This should reduce my carbon footprint (a little), help my waistline and encourage me to get on my bike more often. I am raising money to help build the Culbokie Community Hub which will give a new physical and social heart to the village. It will be a venue for activities supporting the general health and wellbeing of the whole community. The Hub will include a café, health room, toddlers play space, community shop and activities space all set in a village park which will include growing spaces and activity areas. Update 13th May I have now completed seven days of cycle commuting and I intend to do a further thirteen, making a total twenty cycle commutes. Given that I only work four days and we have a holiday to Colonsay in May, this will take until the second week in June to complete, so I have extended the end date. Update 13 June Yesterday I completed the final day of my cycle challenge. It looks like it was just in time as the weather is about to change. 20 days of cycling and no rain! thanks to all who have supported me.
Well done Richard
