Great North Run

Many of my friends know that I am not a runner but I completed Couch to 5K last year. I am celebrating a "special" birthday in October (50!), I know I look good :I)  decided to set myself a challenge and entered, but not expecting to get into the Great North Run, a half marathon, I did it and got myself a place!! 8th Sept. Some of you also know I volunteer for a local breakfast club. Big Breakfast Plus has been supporting and serving homeless people in Swindon for 25 years. We are the only charitable organisation in Swindon who provide a free cooked breakfast, cereals & toast 7 days/week and also an opportunity for homeless people to meet and socialise in a warm and inviting place, where they can also meet our partner agencies who can signpost them to practical support. While many of our guests are rough sleepers or sofa surfers, increasingly there are also people who live without cooking facilities or the income to buy food. Big Breakfast Plus has a very small team of part time staff, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. We keep our catering costs as low as possible by using Fareshare and sharing food donations with other charities. Your donation can really help us: £5 (or £4 plus Gift Aid from individual taxpayers) will buy a “full English” breakfast for one person £75 (or £60 plus Gift Aid) will cover our costs for a day £500
