Katie's 10K

I am running a 10K on 9th July 2017 to raise money for Reading Lifeline. This is a charity that offers support to women and couples who have experienced miscarriage (at any stage in pregnancy), stillbirth and infertility. Not many people know our story but it has been a tough 5 years trying for a family. We have had 3 miscarriages and the last one was pretty horrific. We found out there was no heartbeat at our 12 week scan and it left us absolutely heartbroken. I struggled to deal with the situation and my depression spiralled out of control to the point that my thoughts scared me. I found Reading Lifeline through a friend and I have no idea where I would be if she hadn't passed me over to them. The support they gave, not just me, but us as a couple, was amazing. I have gone from being at my lowest, lowest point in life to feeling like I can deal with anything that life throws at us. Since our last miscarriage, I have been diagnosed with a blood disorder which means my body can't carry a baby without medication. This is a massive positive step but whether the medication will work is unknown. The counselling I have received has made me strong enough that I know we can deal with whatever happens to us in the future.
