The Collett School is a “very” special school attended by children from all over Hertfordshire and the neighbouring Counties. The children have many syndromes including Down's and 50% of the children have Autism. Two of our pupils have very rare diagnosis, one who is one of only two in the world and another who is one of only six in the world. Almost half of our children are under Great Ormond Street Hospital. Nearly 50% of our pupils come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds; some are in care or fostered. We are the only "Special" school in Hertfordshire who cater for 4 to 17 year olds and one of the lowest funded. It takes 93% of their funding to pay the staff leaving only 7% to buy everything from loo rolls to books, so everything is a fundraising issue. I am hoping to help this amazing school which makes such a difference to so many children, and their families lives. The money I raise will go towards helping get disabled access at the school which amazingly they do not have and have to raise funds for themselves! So please help me make the whole school accessible to the children with mobility challenges or who are in a wheelchair. No amount is too small and please if you are a tax payer tick the gift aid box!
