6 Peaks Challenge !!

As many of you know, my little brother Joel sadly passed away in February 2020 just before his 20th birthday, Joel suffered from severe cerebral palsy and I promised myself that I would complete a new challenge every year in his memory for a different charity that provide support to children and young adults with disabilities, not only to help them to continue to do the amazing work they are doing but to also raise awareness and show appreciation as their hard work and determination to enhance these young people’s lives is inspiring.

This year, me and my three mates, Bales, Sammi & Swell will be setting out to raise as much money as we possibly can, this time, for the Bradford Inclusive Disability Service (B.I.D.S). The service was founded in January 1975 starting as a book and specialist toy lending service for children and young adults with a range of different disabilities, today they are so much more than that. B.I.D.S help to support and advise families, ranging from help with DLA forms, education and health care plans and general support with everyday living issues. They help to bring families in similar situations together arranging various events, social activities & holidays. 

For this year’s challenge we have decided to try and climb both the National 3 Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) and the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (Ingleborough, Whernside & Pen-y-Ghent) in 48 hours. The challenge will cover a total of 50 miles of hiking which includes a total 4500m ascend and 633 miles of driving. This year we would like as many people as possible to join us on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks part of the challenge.
