7th LICHFIELD (ST MICHAELS) SCOUT GROUP IS A VIBRANT COMMUNITY OF LIKE MINDED INDIVIDUALS, FOCUSED ON HELPING CHILDREN FROM ALL BACKGROUNDS REALISE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL IN AN ADVENTUROUS, FUN AND CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENT. OUR AIM IS TO PROMOTE THE PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING OF THE INDIVIDUAL, HELPING THEM ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. IN SCOUTING, WE BELIEVE THAT YOUNG PEOPLE DEVELOP MOST WHEN THEY ARE "LEARNING BY DOING" AND WHEN THEY ARE GIVEN RESPONSIBILIY.
Why the community needs us7th Lichfield Scout Group runs two Beaver colonies, two Cub packs and two Scout troops each week which offer young people from the age of six exciting and varied activities which encourage personal development, team building and self reliance whilst boosting the confidence of participants. At present we welcome 137 young people through the doors each week. Activities offered include kayaking, climbing, den building, orienteering, visits to local places of interest, cooking & overnight camping.
Our impact on the communityChildren joining the 7th engage in fun and challenging activities each week which increases their confidence. The team environment forges lasting friendships whilst the overnight stays improve self reliance and independence. Many of the young leaders in the group were once Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in the 7th themselves.
