LinkAble is a Woking based charity that supports people with learning disabilities in the local community. Our mission is to enable those with learning disabilities to develop their potential and enjoy socially inclusive fulfilled lives. For over 25 years LinkAble has been supporting people with learning disabilities by providing children, young people and adults with a range of sporting, social and leisure activities in and around the community that would otherwise be unavailable.
Why the community needs usPeople with learning disabilities face many barriers that exclude them from mainstream society. We help break down those barriers by supporting service users from the age of four with no upper limit, no matter how challenging their disability or behaviour. Our principle ethos is to champion people with learning disabilities, encouraging them to achieve and raise the quality of life for the whole community.
Our impact on the communityWe support people to grow in confidence and live a more independent life. Last year (2015/16) we supported 423 people, through a total of 612 different activities or group session. Overall people attended 33,377 hours of supported activities.
