Our goal is to end poverty of opportunity and drive social mobility through education and partnerships with businesses. We work with employers to help students build confidence and skills and experience the world of work by connecting them through curriculum-based programmes, enterprise and employability activities, mentoring and work experience. Projects are designed to raise pupils' aspirations, develop vital skills and prepare them for the world of work.

Why the community needs us

Tower Hamlets remains as one of the most deprived communities in the country and the most deprived of all London's Boroughs (Indices of Deprivation 2015). There is entrenched inter-generational unemployment coupled with poverty of experience and aspirations for Tower Hamlets' school children. Our programmes are the catalyst in changing this damaging cycle of deprivation.

Our impact on the community

Every year we work with over 8000 business volunteers from 500 companies. They help us to deliver our programmes to 85 schools, benefiting over 15,000 students in Tower Hamlets. Our programmes expose young people to the wealth of career opportunities and the world of work, helping them develop vital knowledge and employability skills for the future. Our work creates the much needed 'friends and family' network and access to experiences other children may take for granted.
