Working across north Wales with young people marginalised by social exclusion, inequality and poverty, we broaden horizons, challenge, educate and nurture confidence. We deliver drop-in, detached & centre-based youth work; alternative learning programmes (for those at risk of school exclusion); intensive, short-term & tailored support for young people & their families to avert crisis; and specialist provision for lesbian, gay, bisexual & trans young people, their families & friends.
Why the community needs us
WRYPP provides spaces and opportunities for young people to learn, grow and feel valued and supported. Our work reduces barriers to engagement and promotes positive transition into adulthood by offering information, support and a range of informal learning opportunities. These increase skills and knowledge and nurture aspirations along with emotional and practical resourcefulness. We support young people to confidently navigate through life, overcome challenges and thrive.
Our impact on the community
In a typical year, we deliver support to approximately 500 young people. Our LGBTQ+ training programmes create safer school environments, raise awareness, challenge LGBTQphobia & promote best practice. Our Pixel Youth Engagement projects offer personal development opportunities through a range of fun and exciting pro-social activities and experiences. Our youth & family team work alongside young people and their families to identify and build upon their strengths; providing support and and averting crisis.
