When a child or young person gets a brain tumour, in addition to the effects of the cancer and the treatment, it can have a major impact on them. Therefore, our primary aim is: 1. To assist in the rehabilitation of children and young people who have suffered from a brain tumour by providing funding for rehabilitation support at hospital and in the local community. Our secondary aims are: 2. to provide funding for parent groups; 3. to raise awareness of brain tumours

Why the community needs us

We provide an Anna's Hope Specialist Neuro Oncology Nurse to support the child during and after treatment . The nurse helps them understand their condition and the treatment and also helps them find the appropriate rehabilitation support in the community . The charity also plans to set up a Children's Neuro Oncology Rehabilitation Service at Addenbrrokes Hospital. It will be the first in the UK and children from this region will benefit . The charity also funds parent groups and experiences.

Our impact on the community

Brain Tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and young people in the UK and the child and the family's world is turned upside down when diagnosed. Anna's Hope are pleased to have helped lots of children and parents cope in hospital, at school and at home. Anna's Hope has raised awareness of brain tumours locally and nationally and have lobbied the government several times. It is also influencing the future in National NHS Review of Children's Neuro Surgery.
