Hannah House is a home from home style Children's short breaks service based in Rothwell, Leeds. We provide 24 hour care for children with complex health needs and life limiting conditions. Children can stay with us for up to seven nights at a time, to give the whole family a well-deserved break, and provide the children with life experiences.
The staff and building at Hannah House is funded by Leeds Community Healthcare NHS trust, but we rely heavily on charitable funds and donations for all the added extras, such as sensory equipment, days out to the seaside, zoo, park some might say the added sparkle.
We recently updated our gardens to provide a welcoming environment for all, we had accessible play equipment for children who use a wheelchair installed and added large flower beds for a sensory experience, this was paid for with donations from the public and local businesses through the our charitable funds, we also had to upgrade our minibus again this was paid for through our charitable funds.
After the two large projects our funds are very low, we have some exciting in house fundraising events coming up, our staff are organising a moveathon where they will aim to rack up 500 miles in August, they will be at the local summer fair where they will be holding a stall.
We have set a fundraising target of £1000 and we hope to achieve this before the end of August, this money will go towards providing the added sparkle for our children.
