Dedicated volunteers have been working hard to clear and re-line the next section of derelict canal in Shropshire - but need funds to carry on.
The Montgomery Canal is now open to Crickheath basin and Schoolhouse Bridge is now open to road traffic. We now want to get the canal back into water under the new bridge! And with your gift you will be helping them to carry on - thank you.
We have launched this nationwide public appeal to raise £250,000 to help provide materials and equipment hire for the volunteers. Volunteers are working between Crickheath Bridge and Schoolhouse Bridge; then on to Waen Wen where the canal widens in Pant, not far from the border with Wales.
With your help, we can achieve wonders and speed up the restoration.
