CAN YOU HELP US FEED HUNGRY FAMILIES IN BRUTON THIS WINTER? DONATE YOUR ADDITIONAL WINTER FUEL PAYMENT TO BRUTON’S FOOD BANK

From November 2023 the Government is giving people over the age of 66 additional financial help through winter, to reflect the additional cost of heating at the coldest time of year.  For many recipients of this extra winter funding, this will be a welcome top up. For some, they may feel like they don’t need the help. And for those people, there is an option to do something positive for the community with it instead.
Winter is the busiest time for Bruton’s food bank, Brue Larder. They see a huge increase in the amount of people needing help and support during the colder months. Last winter, they saw a 94% increase in requests for help, compared to the year before. This year is expected to be the same, or worse.

If you feel able to afford it, we’d like you to consider donating part (or all) of this additional Winter Fuel payment to helping the people in need who use Brue Larder. Good Company Bruton is a supporting partner of Brue Larder food bank and manage and receives funds on their behalf, paying out whenever its needed. Good Company Bruton will not apply management or other charges to these donations. In the unlikely event of the funds not being needed, we will allocate them to other charitable causes in Bruton (such as Bruton Supports Ukraine).
