Meals for Kids

Help us provide the young people of Fishguard and Goodwick with much needed hot meals this winter. Please donate what you can.

Since 2014, POINT has given out hot healthy meals to young people 5 days a week at a heavily reduced rate of 25p (Free on Saturdays). These meals aim to always be healthy and contain at least one of their 5 a day. In the wake of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis, our drop in statistics show that we have had a 41% increase in numbers accessing drop in during 2022-2023. Also we have experienced a 100% increase in our 25p meal scheme rise from feeding 8-10 daily (2019) to18-20+ young people daily during 2023.

These meals have always proved hugely popular since we started the project and for some young people is the only healthy meal they have during the day. We also take referrals from the local schools and community action project for young people during the school holidays who cannot get their free school meals. If a young person cannot afford or does not have money for their meal, we never turn them away, we always make sure they are fed. To date since 2014 15,423 meals have been given out to young people. We also try to cater for all young people and make sure they are options available for young people with food allergies. Along side this we want to provide fresh fruit for the young people to help towards their 5 a day and promote healthy alternatives to snacks.
