Our aims support the Every Child Matters: 5 major outcomes: staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, achieving economic well-being; - Empowering children to create their own play environment. - Empowering children to take responsibility and control of their future. - Equality of opportunity.

The project is based in Haggerston Ward one of Hackney's most deprived areas. The majority of our users are from the local area: low-income families, many are one-parent families and we have an increasing number of newly arrived families moving into the area. We provide a unique oportunity for children to access free play activities that they direct.

Our experience has shown that empowering children has led to ownership of our project and with this comes responsibility and new/improved long-term interest in the local community as a whole. Free access to play activities in a less traditionally restricted enviroment.
